Job Title: IT Technician

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our organization’s IT infrastructure. The IT Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, providing technical support to end-users, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Support:
    • Provide first-level support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
  2. Installation and Maintenance:
    • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
    • Ensure all IT equipment is up-to-date with the latest firmware and software patches.
  3. Network Management:
    • Assist in the setup and maintenance of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
    • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure a secure and stable network environment.
  4. System Upgrades and Migrations:
    • Collaborate with the IT team to plan and execute system upgrades and migrations.
    • Ensure minimal disruption during system upgrades and maintain data integrity.
  5. Security Measures:
    • Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems, data, and networks.
    • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and implement preventive measures.
  6. Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
    • Create user guides and manuals to assist end-users with common technical issues.
  7. Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to enhance overall IT functionality.
    • Participate in IT projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role. Familiarity with a variety of hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
    • Knowledge of computer networks, protocols, and security.
    • Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
    • Familiarity with ITIL best practices.
